Happy New Year everyone! Hope your start to 2026 is going well for you so far!
Wow! I don't know what you but this year was absolutely terrible. So many awful events took place throughout the world and it's often left me feeling uncertain and anxious for what's to come. Just like many people, I've lost family and unfortunately had a friendship built on flimsy foundations come to an end suddenly. I felt like many goals I set last year were successful in the first few months of the year but ultimately didn't last throughout the latter half of the year. I did have an expected success that I didn't expect to happen is that I have revived my language learning blog and rebranded it to Soren The Language Adventurer during a Mercury Retrograde! I used this opportunity to revive older blog posts I enjoyed and still find relevant to language learners as well as showcase my current conlang projects. I participated in the yearly challenge for conlangers that takes place every December called #Lexember. I wasn't able to participate daily because of my work's holiday overtime commitments that took high priority. So what I did was to group days together into 3 blog posts. Even though they took a very long time to write. It was worth it in the end.
In terms of my spiritual practice, I feel like I was able to still make time for different significant days. I made a spread forGormánuður, got to celebrate the 6 days of Sunwait (or "Vänt" in Swedish) as Yule, of course.
I did some spellwork here and there but mostly I´ve been trying to be fairly regular with my divination practice when I am too busy to do anything else.
Hence the (mostly) regular weekly readings on this blog, (semi-regular) "daily" tarot readings on Instagram and personal readings that I may or may not share in my Instagram stories.
Speaking of Instagram, I ended up not deleting it as originally planned at the beginning of 2020. I have been more active on BlueSky but not as much as I could be. I also mix what I do on there where as Instagram has mostly just been me posting my reading as posts and everything else ending up in my stories.
I will update everyone reading this if I join any new platforms (ex: Not Meta-owned platforms) or if I end up deleting any accounts going forward. Although I doubt it at this point in time.
Anyway, here are the prompts for my Gormánuður spread I posted on Instagram if you would like to use to them for whichever divination tool you prefer to use:
1) What should be my main focus?
2) Where do I need to slow down?
3) What do I need to consolidate for during this time?
4) What do I need to release from my life?
5) Álfarblót: What can I offer others?
6) Skaði: What challenges do I need to face?
7) Freyja: How do I best express love to myself and others?
8) Óðinn: Where can I take the lead?
If you do this spread, you are more than welcome to tag me in it on Instagram and let me know how insightful it was to you and your life during Gormánuður.
What you can expect from this blog going forward
I will continue doing weekly readings on here for the time being. If you enjoyed them, don't worry they are not going away anytime soon.
I will be posting reviews of every single deck I own so that you can decide whether or not it is worth having in your collection. I will even let you know if the deck is out of print so you don't get too disappointed if you cannot find it. I used to do this on my YouTube channel when I was on YouTube and figured this would be great to do to revive here.
With that being said, I will not be doing any unboxings anymore because they kept getting confused with reviews and I am not an avid collector like I used to be. Nowadays, I only collect decks that I know for sure that I am going to use. I actually haven't purchased a new deck since 2023!
Don't get me wrong, I've seen many decks that I would love to get but I am at a point in my life where I need to use what I have and curate my collection to decks that I know are going to be used.
I may post decks that I am looking to remove from my collection and potentially sell (if not local) or give away (if local). So if you are interested in owning a deck I am willing to sell, send me an email here.
Any new type of reading or spread that I created will be posted here for you to share. I will review any Ásatrú, Nordic Witchcraft or divination book that I use or have used in the past and will let you know whether or not I can recommend it or not.
I recently rediscovered a project I started at the beginning of 2020 but unintentionally put it aside and thought I lost it because I initially had on an old laptop that I had to later replace. Luckily, I saved it elsewhere and now I can review, edit and eventually complete said project at later date. Once it's completed, I will then mention what I plan to do with it going forward and whether it is available for purchase.
Don't expect to hear about it until significant progress has been made or when the project is at its completion.
Any divination challenges I find interesting from YouTube, Instagram or Bluesky will be posted here.
Will I be consistent with every post I make? Not necessarily, but I will make an effort to keep this blog regularly updated whenever possible. I don't make New Years Resolutions anymore but I do set goals that can be updated and adjusted as time goes by. It tends to me more helpful for me to do rather than trying to get too ambitious with goals only to let them fall to the side afterwards.
